On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Grand Raid, France Télévisions is setting up an event channel: Réunion 1ère Ultra-HD. During the four days, 24 hours a day, eligible viewers on the island or in mainland France will be able to follow the race live, watch the best moments or discover 4K programmes produced by the Réunion la 1ère teams.

The Diagonale de fous, the Ultra trail of Reunion Island considered as one of the most difficult in the world, represents 165 km for a total difference in altitude of 10210 meters and brings together 3000 runners. The first runners arrive after 23 hours!

How does it work?

The Ultra-HD streams are produced and encoded in Reunion Island and then routed by Globecast to the nodal point at France Télévisions' headquarters in Paris. The signals are then placed in an IP 2110 environment and pass through a broadcasting control room(graphics, playlist...) The broadcast signal is then entrusted to Globecast, which carries out the final encoding and delivery to the providers.
